The 2013 Bayside Raider Intermediates opened up their season on the road with a 12-0 win in the Bronx in September and continued to march through the season in pursuit of their first championship since 2007. Although a tough playoff loss ended their season in December, it was truly a remarkable season filled with many exciting moments and outstanding individual performances for many of the players.
Led by returning team captain and starting quarterback Javon Abraham, the Bayside offense took shape and led the division in points scored during the 2013 season. Javon's exciting play both in throwing and running the football were complemented tremendously by contributions from Jonathan (JJ) Mercado at Running Back and Wide Receiver, and the play of Sammy Jules at Fullback.
Defensively, the Raiders were anchored by strong performances from Kory Godfrey at Defensive End, Christopher Smith at Tackle, and a quick to the ball group of Linebackers that included Sammy Jules and Donald Britton.
With an improving Secondary led by Joshua Vergara and returning players Smith and Britton, the Bayside Raider Intermediates are poised for another run at the playoffs for the upcoming 2014 season!
